What is CIDE?

Welcome to the International Spanish Center (CIDE), located at the School of Social and Human Sciences of the University of Deusto. Academic programs and courses:

  • Study programs in the fields of Spanish Language and Culture and Business, International Relations and Spanish with a wide choice of courses specifically designed for international students. Furthermore, students can join courses with Spanish students in the different schools of the University of Deusto. These programs are offered for the academic year, fall and spring semesters, and summer.
  • Spanish courses: Semester and summer courses. Group levels adapted to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Number of hours per week can vary between 4 and 10-15.
  • CIDE is also an official venue for official exams in order to obtain the Certificates in Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE), issued by Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry for Education. Examinations are held in May and November.
  • Teacher training: Courses for Spanish language teachers organized together with different institutions (Instituto Cervantes, Spanish Embassy in the U.S., other universities, etc.)
